Dear Leaders,
Well, we’ve got a bit a challenge ahead of us don’t we?
Business is down, stress is up. Life as we have known it has gone by the wayside for the next few months at least. Fear and anxiety are up as well… and it could be a while before most of us can buy some spare loo roll too.
Like many of us, I have had my own fair share of feeling anxious over the last week or so… But somehow, despite the doom and gloom, I keep coming back to a place of feeling hopeful.
There are a few reasons for that, but in amongst them is a memory of visiting the East Side Gallery on the remains of the Berlin Wall and seeing this mural:
Now, we might be facing some incredibly challenging times, but humans in many places through history have overcome far worse…
So while I was out running this morning I thought to myself…
… What if we have a solid go at encouraging as many people in our towns and cities as possible to see themselves as leaders who can, together, make a real difference in their communities over the weeks and months ahead.
I was doing that for a living until a couple of weeks ago. The ‘living’ part is going to look somewhat different this year…
But the opportunities, for us as leaders and humans, to lead well in this season are massive.
